Why Choose St Joseph’s?
St Joseph’s is located in Central West NSW, in the picturesque Central West town of Eugowra, in Wiradjuri Country, on the banks of Mandagery Creek.
We are a co-educational, faith filled Christian community providing a comprehensive education for the individual child. Our School encourages the learning and development of the whole child, academic, physical, spiritual and emotional in a safe and happy family like environment.
St Joseph’s School Eugowra follows the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards of NSW. We are a Catholic School and our curriculum is taught with a Christian dimension at all times. In all Key Learning Areas each child is encouraged to become actively involved in all activities that are designed for the particular stage of development.
Our Parish of St John the Baptist, comes under the banner of St Raphael’s Cowra with the staff and students being involved in the community Masses. We are also supported by the Catholic Education Office in Bathurst with Staff and student development; further education in Indigenous culture and language, Allied Health visits in Speech and Occupational Therapy, Counsellors and Psychologists and much more.
Our class sizes are small, and are structured into three classrooms; Kindergarten/ Year 1, Years 2 & 3 and Years 4, 5 & 6 with three permanent teachers, Teachers Aides and a Learning Support team.
Our School has been rebuilt and modernised after the destruction of the 2022 floods, and the bright and airy classroom furniture has been updated with the emphasis of supporting teacher pedagogy and encouraging student choice, curiosity and focus. Each classroom is fully equipped with integrated technology; Interactive Televisions, with all Primary students having their own school ChromeBook and Infants children having their own IPad.
Classroom layouts and learning practices have changed with the times, however our teachers are still dedicated to the education and happiness of their students, regularly attending Professional Development sessions.
With our spacious, grassy playground, sun safe play equipment and sporting facilities our students have the opportunity to develop their gross and fine motors and social skills in free and structured play.
St Joseph’s is a family like environment where our students are safe and happy and they love coming to school!
