Our Vision and Mission Statement

St Joseph’s Catholic School is an educational centre, providing an environment for learning, which encourages the development of the whole person, enabling our school community to live and learn, in love and truth, according to the teachings of Christ.

Situational Analysis

St Joseph’s School Eugowra is situated in Central West NSW, 80km south-west of Orange with the towns of Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes and Parkes all within a 60km radius. The school is part of the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst. St Joseph’s is located in the picturesque town of Eugowra (meaning sand washing down the hill) in Wiradjuri Country, on the banks of the Mandagery Creek. The Lachlan River runs past the town on the Southern side.

Our school is co-educational from Kindergarten to Year 6 with 30 students enrolled for 2019. We have 3 full time teachers, a support teacher/librarian, a release teacher and two teachers’ Aides. Children are grouped into three classes; K – 2, 3 - 4 and 5 – 6.

With this being our focus we encourage learning through technology. Our children all have access to their own iPad and school computers. We aim to facilitate a child’s development through cultural, educational and religious experiences and through extracurricular activities and visiting professionals.

We are a Professional Learning Community. We identify priorities and goals for teachers to support their professional growth and development. Our school is modelled around Christ Centred Learning and is proactive in engaging children in adaptive learning environments that develop personalised learning. We acknowledge that each child has a special place in our school community and through whole school collaboration and expertise we strive to bring out the best in every student spiritually, socially, morally, academically, physically and emotionally.
